We built Lovivo
because families deserve better

Lovivo grew from a simple observation: millions of adult children worry about their ageing parents every day — yet there is no tool that gives them peace of mind without constant phone calls. We decided to change that.

Where we come from

A problem that touches every family

Across Europe, tens of millions of people over 60 want to stay in their own home for as long as possible — and that is a healthy, sensible choice. But for their children it means daily uncertainty: is everything all right? Did they take their medication? Did they go out and come back safely?

Existing solutions — alarm bracelets, motion sensors, care homes — either stigmatise the senior, are expensive and complex to install, or simply do not give the caregiver a complete picture of what is happening.

Lovivo runs on the smartphone the senior already has. Nothing else is needed. And the caregiver receives information when something truly needs their attention — not every hour, but exactly when it matters.

What guides us every day

Every design and technical decision follows from these four principles.

Senior first

The app on the senior's phone is as invisible as possible. It does not complicate things, does not ask for permission every few minutes, does not drain the battery. The senior lives their life — the app works in the background.

Alerts that matter

The caregiver gets a notification when something is genuinely happening. Not every hour, not "battery at 80%". Configurable activity thresholds, quiet hours, a weekly report instead of a daily data flood.

Privacy by default

TLS encryption on every connection. The senior's phone runs under an anonymous account — no email address, no personal ID number. The caregiver logs in with their email. Voice calls are P2P-encrypted via WebRTC. Data is never sold or shared.

Accessible for everyone

Minimum touch targets of 56 dp, font size 18 sp, icon plus label always (never icon alone), no swipe gestures. WCAG-compliant design — because our users may have poor eyesight or trembling hands.

Built solidly, from the ground up

Lovivo is a native Android app written in Kotlin. No webviews, no frameworks adding layers of abstraction between the code and the device.

Android Kotlin + Jetpack Compose — modern UI, full control over performance and battery
Backend Firebase (Firestore + FCM) — real-time data, HIGH-priority push notifications
Audio WebRTC peer-to-peer — SRTP-encrypted voice calls, no relay server
Offline Room DB + event queue — works offline, syncs when connectivity is restored
Bateria Night mode + cycle optimisation — below 8% per day, 2–4× less than comparable apps
